I’m not what I ought to be
In my Christianity but
My faith is in You, Jesus
Through You I can live blamelessly

My mind used to be
The devil’s playground but now
It belongs to You, Jesus
You’re making it Your holy sanctuary

I used to live with such self-concern
You tried to teach me but I would not learn
To cast my cares on You ‘caz You cared for me
Yet I clung to them failing to see

That You loved me with an everlasting love
That You chose me inspite of my distrust
That You were calling me out of my own destructive lusts
That You were inviting me to live by a law so far above

All I could have asked for or imagined
All my feeble mind could even fathom
Known as the law of the Spirit of Life
Known as the grace that comes with being indwelt by Christ

You were everything You were meant to be
When You said “I always do what pleases My Father,” You spoke truly
So we place our faith in You, Jesus
Being fully persuaded that You will live blamelessly through us.
For we have no confidence in our flesh (Philippians 3:3), no confidence in ourselves, but we are fully persuaded that what He has promised, He is also able to preform (Romans 4:21)!
